Where to Stay in Trogir 2026: Old Town, Čiovo & Nearby Options

Boats moored in Trogir harbour, Dalmatia, Croatia

Trogir is small — the Old Town fits on an island you can walk across in 10 minutes — but there is genuine choice across different price ranges and settings. Staying in the Old Town puts you closest to the cathedral and the evening atmosphere; Čiovo island (connected by a short bridge) offers more space and beach access. Split Airport is 6km away, making Trogir a practical first-night option for Dalmatian itineraries. All prices in euros (€).

Old Town — most atmospheric

Staying inside the Old Town walls means walking out of your door into a medieval streetscape. The downside is that midday is very busy with day-trippers; the upside is that evenings are peaceful and the early morning light on the stone buildings is exceptional.

For: Couples, first-time visitors, short stays.

Price range: €100–180 per double room in high season; significantly lower in May, early June, and September.

Hotel Trogir Palace One of the most prominent hotels in the Old Town, in a renovated Baroque palace directly on Cathedral Square. Rooms vary considerably — ask for an upper-floor option facing the square.

  • Price: €130–200+

Palace Pivac A boutique hotel in the Old Town with a strong reputation for personal service. Rooms are simply furnished but the location is excellent.

  • Price: €110–160

Hotel Tragos A well-reviewed small hotel near the waterfront, popular with couples. The rooftop is a highlight.

  • Price: €120–170

Apartments in the Old Town Many private owners rent apartments inside the Old Town walls — good value for groups or families, typically €80–150 per night. Book via standard platforms with early-summer priority as inventory is limited.

Čiovo Island — beach access, more space

Čiovo is connected to the Trogir Old Town by a short bridge — a 5-minute walk. The island’s north shore facing Trogir has a quieter, more local feel with longer beaches and more parking than the Old Town.

For: Families, beach-focused stays, longer trips, and those who hire a car in the Balkans.

Price range: €70–130 per double room in high season.

Hotel Split (on Čiovo) One of the larger hotels on the Čiovo side, with a pool and direct beach access. Good option for families.

  • Price: €90–150

Villa and apartment rentals on Čiovo The most common accommodation type on Čiovo — private villas and apartments, many with gardens or sea views. Typically €80–160 per night for a self-catering unit.

Near Split Airport — practical option

Split Airport is 6km from Trogir — closer than central Split. Several hotels around the airport area work well as a first or last night option for early flights, though they’re not worth choosing over the Old Town for atmosphere.

Hotel Concordia (near the airport) A functional hotel used mainly by business travellers and those with early flights.

  • Price: €80–120

Budget and hostel options

Trogir has fewer budget options than Split, but private rooms in guesthouses outside the Old Town (on the mainland near the bridge) run €50–80 in season. The best value is usually an apartment on Čiovo for 2+ nights.
