What the numbers mean
- Accommodation: Budget hostels in Albania and North Macedonia can be as low as €8–12/night. Peak-season Dubrovnik runs €25–35+ for a hostel dorm.
- Food: A full sit-down meal with drinks in a local restaurant typically costs €8–14. Tourist-facing restaurants in Dubrovnik or Split run €18–28/head.
- Activities: A half-day boat tour costs approximately €20–35. A full-day guided excursion (e.g. Plitvice, Kotor Bay) runs €35–60.
- Transport: Buses between cities cost €5–15 depending on distance. Taxis within cities run €2–8. Car rental adds €25–50/day.
- Flights: Not included — budget separately. Budget airlines often have Dubrovnik, Split, Belgrade, Tirana and Ljubljana well under €80 from major European cities.
