Sunny Hill is Kosovo’s largest music festival, held at the Germia Park outdoor amphitheatre on the outskirts of Pristina each August. The festival has attracted international headliners including Dua Lipa, who has headlined multiple editions and is closely associated with the event, alongside regional stars from the Balkans and Turkey, and international acts from the electronic, pop, and urban music scenes.
Venue and logistics
The Germia Park amphitheatre sits around 4 km from central Pristina in a wooded park area, making it one of the more pleasant outdoor festival settings in the Balkans. The site is large enough to host substantial crowds while remaining manageable in terms of internal navigation.
Taxis run continuously between the city centre and the venue throughout the festival - a journey of around 10–15 minutes and rarely more than €5. No reliable public transport serves the amphitheatre directly, so budget for taxis or arrange a car.
Programme and tickets
Sunny Hill runs over two to three days with a single main stage format - headliners play each night to the full audience rather than being split across competing stages. Supporting acts cover regional pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. Day tickets are approximately €25–40, with premium VIP packages available at higher prices.
The lineup announcement, which typically comes in spring, generates significant regional attention. Follow the festival’s official social media channels for confirmed dates and artist announcements for each edition.
Practical information
Pristina’s accommodation runs at normal prices during Sunny Hill week - unlike Dokufest in Prizren, the city does not fully fill. Search hotels in Pristina for central options; most allow easy taxi access to the venue. Booking a week or two in advance is sufficient for most price ranges.
The festival draws a young, predominantly Kosovar and Albanian audience alongside visiting fans from the diaspora and international visitors. The atmosphere is celebratory and the security presence is visible but not heavy. Bring cash - smaller vendors within the site often do not accept cards.
